I hope you’re doing alright, folks

How are you? Like really? The world is pretty interesting and can feel intense to say the least.  I hope you’re taking care of yourself the best you can.  When a lot of shifts and changes are going on at once, it can be time to get focused on our self care and nourishment.

When we are feeling stuck, depleted or stagnant it helps to step up our nutrition and physical, emotional, and/or spiritual support practices. Pick one or two areas that feel right to you, and go ham!

Let’s cover the basics:

  • FEELINGS/EMOTIONS Lean into whatever emotions and moods you are experiencing: the good, bad, ugly, funny, ironic- it all matters. Explore it if you can but always acknowledge whatever comes up. No need to shame it- just acknowledge the presence.
  • MINDSET Channel anxiety or looped thinking into useful therapeutic activity: journal, EFT or tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique), exercise, painting or other forms of artistry, dance (also totally art!), breath work, connect with nature outdoors, or allow yourself to unwind in a peaceful, accessible space of your choosing.  Please limit your use of alcohol or drugs, if you choose to imbibe at all. This is a time when clarity of mind is so helpful.
  • MEANING Consistently connect with what is soulfully meaningful to you. This could mean God, Goddess, Jesus, Kuan Yin, nature, the soul, the great unknown, the idea of peace and connection- whatever it is it is meaningful to you and that is all that matters. This could look like attending a place of worship in person or online, listening to healing music, meditation, prayer, pulling cards, gardening, cooking- whatever it is that lightens up your heart, mind and body: do it and do it regularly. Daily practices for the win! If you don’t have a practice in place, start researching ways people connect to the deeper aspects of life and see what speaks to you. If it sparks your curiosity or feels uplifting or exciting to you- you’re headed in the right direction.
  • CONNECTION Have people to openly, truly connect and share with. If you don’t have that at home, find it through friends or turn to connection spots online. The internet can be a great place of solace and connection for good hearted people looking for other good hearted people.
  • LIGHTEN THE LOAD Don’t forget to make humor, smiling, and laughter a priority as often as you can.
  • PHYSICAL Get focused on your physical wellness- a gentle goal of at least 30 minutes of movement in every day. Yoga, walking, Tai Chi, active cleaning, dancing or an online/in-person exercise class all are perfect ways to get your body going.
  • IMMUNE SUPPORT Practice your ABCDE’s daily.  I mean take your vitamins, sweet ones!  Get your vitamin A, B’s, C, D and D3, and E. Building up your immune system in stressful times is incredibly beneficial.  You can further bolster your immunity with things like colostrum, olive leaf extract, and oil of oregano. Health is one of the manifested aspects of our wealth/prosperity.
  • VITALITY LEVEL Eat fresh veggies and fruit daily, and get at least a few minutes of safe sunlight every day if you can. Living foods bring life/vitality to the body. Sunlight brings warmth, vigor, and focus.
     

Your feeling well can make such a brilliant impact in the world around you, especially when so many are focused fully on dysfunction and strife. It’s a lovingly rebellious act to care about oneself in times of intensity and change. Non-Reaction in Moments that Matter

For anyone seated on the struggle bus around world events recently, it’s a perfect time to talk personal non-reaction and the power it holds for healing and change. You don’t have to look far before someone or something is placed right up in your face exactly exemplifying what you believe is “wrong” with the world and humanity. Every single one of us are met with moments like these and if we are looking for evidence of wrongness- it will greet us everywhere. The best news is that these moments offer a great energetic punch of power if we decide to slow down, feel our way and direct our focus with some tender, loving care.

Non-reaction and being internally “seated” within an observatory space during a moment or situation of intense struggle/discomfort creates a gateway into some very deep self introspection and potential for healing available to all of us. Remember that non-reaction does not bypass emotions or wounding or wrongness, nor does it condone that which is without light/love/divine wisdom and knowing. It facilitates an environment of internal calm that is necessary for the work of understanding, information gathering, and betterment/improvement to commence.

A response of quiet or stillness does not dull our rage or sadness or the injustice we witness or experience. We can allow the fullness of our feels in these moments. It is a thing of love to allow our emotions to be without judgment or condemnation. BIG LOVE. Responding with observation while fully feeling along the way opens a window into our beliefs and what and who we feel stacked against. This approach provides such clarity and information that if we’re willing to bravely look we can see the roots, the webs, the core of any issue. We can truly examine our true Self in these moments + see/feel/know any limits that we have placed on our love and compassion for our Self and for others, and create space for more understanding. It is here in the calm that we can finally see opportunities around new perspectives and the better ways forward.

Non-reaction also allows for our personal power resources to avoid unnecessary depletion. Every time we respond to stimuli, our energy bank takes a hit. These energy banks naturally replenish, but it doesn’t always happen quickly if we’re overloaded and continuously responding in a world that never ceases communicating while in a body that never ceases receiving information.

We need our personal power resources charged up to ensure that we are ready to do the things that matter. We know it’s time to move/response once we feel empassioned and inspired to the point where we cannot help but move and the actions are palpably satisfying. That is what I call a worth while response. “If it isn’t inspired and truly moving me, is it really worth my time?”

Getting bent out of shape (aka losing our alignment to who/what we naturally are) too often is exhausting, unnecessary, and not even sustainable. Not a single one of us are meant to singlehandely change this world, nor do we have much chance at making our own brilliant unique marks on it when we’re consistently upset in reponse to what we might see/hear/feel. Know this: it matters so much that we pay attention to what we are choosing to do with our focus.

This is the work of light and love (divine wisdom), and you are so worthy of it. We are all so worthy of compassion, understanding and support.

Peace to Our Veteran’s Today and Every Day

Wishing peace on this Veteran’s Day to all of you brilliant, courageous Souls that have served our country.  Thank you for your love of home, freedom and community.

Your service is honored especially so today, and/but you deserve to be reminded every single day that what you signed up for and gave a period of your life to is deeply, broadly unique.  It etches though the complexities of who you are as a human being.  How the experience impacted you and how it shapes and contributes to the way you perceive and experience life continues for one’s lifetime.

Civilian life is never really civilian life for you all.  And, understandably some deeply struggle with this.

Know that you are loved by so many, including countless people that you have never even met. If you don’t know me personally, know that I am one of them.  

If you are struggling with anything in your life, know that the keys (meaning external resources and personal practices that contribute to your healing) to feeling more ease and peace absolutely exist around you.  And, you deserve to find them.   It requires you to adjust your gaze, truly look for them and remain steadfast in trying different ones until you find the unique combination of keys that work for you.  I call it creating your toolbox. 

You will find the keys meant for you, and you will know when you’ve found them.   Want to know what to look for?  The keys meant for you will quickly bring clarity and knowing, cause ease/calm within your body and mind, and will actually allow for the life around you to THRIVE.  The “right” keys for you will do all of that.  Don’t be led astray by the keys that do only 1 or 2 of these affects. Booze, sex, drugs, and non-life enhancing companionship (both friends and significant others) are all prime examples of false keys.

The keys that work for another are not necessarily your keys, but they can certainly inspire you to try different things out in your quest to claiming your whole, radiant self.  If you can apply that same capacity of commitment and determination that I know exists within you to growing your sense of self compassion, self love, and knowing of your worthiness… you will change your world.

If you are in need support, look for your keys and then practice what brings you true relief on repeat. If what used to work no longer does, it means your toolbox is ready to be refreshed.  Find some new keys.
